My name is Corey Williams. I am a 6’5″, 23 years old that was born in Stuggart, Germany. I can play any position on the court both offensive and defensive. I graduated from Astronaut High School in 2006, and played varsity basketball. I was named team MVP averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds per game, which earned me a full scholarship to Manatee Community College. I worked hard at MCC which gained me great recognition and where my hard work, hustle, and love for the game came to show. From Manatee I went to Allen University in Columbia, Sc and played for 2 years. I graduated from Allen University Cum Laude. My college experiences really prepared me for life, especially the game of basketball. One thing I have learned from the game of basketball is that no matter how tough things may get you always give 110% because you never know the outcome if you do your best.
So far, my experience in the Flight School Scout League has been phenomenal. I love everything about it and I have only been through the first two weeks. Everyone has made me feel like the Flight is one big family, from the coaches, the players, and even the players that are trying out. Everyone has such a positive attitude about the game. I prepare for the scout league each week by practicing everyday on my shooting and conditioning. Three hours a day at the YMCA filled with shooting drills and wind sprints are a regular part of my training regimen.
I wanted to tryout for the Flight because I wanted to better myself. The best way to do that through basketball is.to challenge myself at the professional level. My professional goals are to play over seas, and gain more basketball experience and knowledge. I believe that my experience with the Flight will help me accomplish those goals. Hopefully, I’ll find myself on the 2012 roster.
