We may officially celebrate the life of MLK, Jr on the 3rd Monday of every January. However, we need to remember MLK, Jr on a daily basis and reflect upon his life work and message…
“All I’m saying is simply this, that all life is interrelated, that somehow we’re caught in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason, I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. You can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.”
We as a nation have come along way since the 1960s, yet we still have a long way to go. As MLK, Jr so eloquently stated above, we are all in this together and it is up to all of us to do our part to make this a better world for ourselves and for future generations.
