Martin Luther King Jr. is the epitome of “inspiration” to me. Here’s a man, who, against the barrage personal hatred and anger few have ever known, against the opposition of slimy politicians and broken governmental systems, against the daily threats to his own life and the lives of his family, and much more, was able to (along with the help of many others) usher in a new future for our country, and really, our world. He left a legacy that continues to change lives, a ministry that will always be a proof of how, if you let Him, God will do unimaginable things through His people for His people. Like a modern-day Moses, he led our country out of the bondage of racism and prejudice that had so long enslaved it….the world, and our country specifically) still has a lot growth and healing that needs to take place, but I think we’d all agree the world is certainly a better place because of Dr. King.
Hi everybody. I am a bit new to the blogging world, so stay with me! My name is Bryce Bow. I recently moved to Florida from Indiana, where I grew up and lived for the first 23 years of my existence. Though the gray & cold winters and flat, endless cornfields were hard to leave, the Lord opened a door for me to work at Florida Christian College in Kissimmee as the Athletic Director and Assistant Basketball Coach. It’s been a wonderful eight months so far, filled with a LOT of learning, but I know it’s where I’m supposed to be right now, and at the end of the day, that gives me peace.
The story of how I learned about the Flight is a long one, and I’d love to share it with you sometime in person, but for now I can tell what really continues to draw me to the organization is what they stand for: “To utilize the platform of professional basketball to invest in the lives of others.” From playing and coaching at the college level, to working some of the top camps around the country in the summers, to now starting my own camp and training company with a friend, I feel like I have been “wired” to play, teach, and utilize the game of basketball. It’s a passion. It’s energizes me. I feel “at home” on the court…and as long as the Flight continue to work towards this vision, and as long as the Lord keeps this “fire” lit inside me for the game, I plan on helping this organization in any way I can for many years to come! Greater things are yet to come!!….As one of my college buddies used to say, “Beleeee Dat!!!”
